Sindh announces holiday for schools on Shab-e-Barat

The Sindh government has declared a holiday for schools and educational institutions on February 26 in observance of Shab-e-Barat, the sacred night falling on the 15th of the ongoing Islamic month, Shaban. All educational institutions under the administration of Sindh’s schools and college departments will remain closed on this day. The decision for the public holiday aligns with the directives issued by Sindh’s sub-committee of the steering committee on education. Shab-e-Barat holds significant religious importance for Muslims, who seek forgiveness from Allah on this blessed night. Special religious gatherings and visits to graveyards for prayers are customary during this time, signifying a time of spiritual reflection and devotion among Muslims worldwide.
