The Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) has taken legal action against the Election Commission’s decision regarding reserved seats, filing a challenge in the Lahore High Court. Led by Chairman Sahibzada Hamid Raza, the SIC contends that the Election Commission’s decision is beyond its jurisdiction and akin to amending the Constitution. The petition, filed through counsel Ishtiaq A Khan, argues that the SIC should be allocated seats in proportion to its representation in the assembly, regardless of whether it contested the election directly. The challenge seeks to annul the Election Commission’s order, citing it as exceeding its authority.
