Former Australian cricketer Shane Watson is a leading contender for the head coach position of the Pakistan national team, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) initiates the search ahead of the New Zealand T20I series. Currently coaching Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Watson’s experience and expertise make him a strong candidate for the role. Additionally, Peshawar Zalmi’s head coach Darren Sammy is also in consideration, but sources indicate Watson as the favored choice. The PCB is expected to make an announcement soon, with the Kiwi team scheduled to tour Pakistan next month for the T20I series.
