The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee convenes in Peshawar today to sight the Ramadan moon, led by Chairman Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad. The hope is for a unified start to Ramadan across Pakistan if the crescent is spotted. Meetings of other committees are scheduled across the country, aiming to commence Ramadan from Tuesday if the moon is sighted. Similar preparations are underway in India and Bangladesh. Ramadan signifies a time of devout fasting for millions worldwide, with fasting durations ranging from 12 to 17 hours. Alongside religious observances, the month brings increased charitable activities and vibrant communal gatherings, reflecting the spirit of Ramadan.
