Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has revealed an ambitious strategy to deploy 50,000 solar systems throughout the province, marking a significant leap forward in sustainable energy solutions for households. In a recent session chaired by the Chief Minister, the Energy Secretary outlined the implementation details of this groundbreaking initiative. These solar systems will incorporate state-of-the-art technology, boasting advanced solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other essential components. With an initial funding of Rs 12.6 billion allocated for the first phase, the program aims to revolutionize energy efficiency and sustainability across Punjab. During the discussion, Nawaz stressed the urgency of installing one-kilowatt solar systems promptly and advocated for the adoption of the latest solar innovations. Moreover, the Chief Minister warmly welcomed Chairman Wang Yaodong of China State Construction Engineering Corporation, underscoring the potential for fruitful collaboration between China and Pakistan. Nawaz commended China’s One Window Operation System as a global exemplar for investment promotion and expressed keen interest in exploring avenues for private sector involvement in the IT sector. She also extended a cordial invitation for China’s partnership in agriculture and joint efforts to combat environmental challenges such as smog. Furthermore, Chief Minister Nawaz underscored the pivotal role of bolstering economic ties between Pakistan and China, emphasizing the substantial employment opportunities and economic growth potential inherent in CPEC projects for both nations.
