Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has made a strategic move to address the need for fairness in the upcoming general elections by reaching out to its rival, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman. The PTI delegation, led by senior leader Asad Qaiser, paid a visit to Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s residence in Islamabad to offer condolences on the passing of his mother-in-law. Qaiser emphasised that the visit was purely out of respect and tradition and should not be construed as a political meeting. He clarified that political matters were not discussed during the encounter. Despite the absence of political discussions, the meeting occurred shortly after the imprisoned PTI leader conveyed a message to party workers in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to organise party conventions openly. Sources revealed that PTI expressed readiness for a joint effort with JUI-F against the dominance of a single political party, despite ongoing corruption allegations against its leadership. Maulana Fazl, while expressing frustration, acknowledged the gesture extended by PTI leaders, emphasising the importance of timely actions.
