PTCL has announced the discontinuation of its Charji services in various areas across Pakistan, including both major cities and smaller regions, with the exception of Kashmir. The service will officially cease operations on June 30, 2024. Charji, PTCL’s 4G internet device offering Wi-Fi connectivity through a wireless device, will no longer be available to users in the listed areas.
The partial closure will affect users in several areas, including Attock, Bannu, Bhakkar, D.I. Khan, Gujrat, Hangu, Haripur, Islamabad, Jhang, Jhelum, Karachi East, South, and West, Khushab, Kohat, Lahore, Lasbela, Loralai, Malir, Mastung, Mianwali, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, and Toba Tek Singh. Additionally, certain areas, such as Chakwal, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Karachi Central, Muzaffargarh, Nowshera, and Pishin, will experience a complete closure of the service.
In response to this closure, PTCL is offering affected users a 50% discount on Ufone’s 4G Blaze device, reducing the price from Rs. 5,500 to Rs. 2,750. This compensation aims to provide users with an alternative solution for their internet connectivity needs following the discontinuation of the Charji services.
