Following the recent power-sharing agreement between the PML-N and the PPP, discussions have ensued regarding the allocation of ministerial portfolios. A delegation from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) met with representatives from the PML-N to assert their demands for a significant role in the federal cabinet. While initially seeking the deputy speaker position in the National Assembly, which had been allocated to the PPP, the MQM-P now presses for four ministries due to this setback. Additionally, the MQM-P advocates for legislative measures to empower local government bodies, a cause long championed by the party for decentralization of authority. Notably, the PML-N has agreed to continue with Kamran Tessori as the Sindh governor, as confirmed by MQM Punjab leader Muhammad Zahid. The meeting, attended by prominent figures such as Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal from MQM-P and Ishaq Dar and Ayaz Sadiq from the PML-N, underscores ongoing negotiations and power dynamics within the political landscape.
