Passport Processing Time Hits 3 Months

With a surge in passport applications, the waiting period for passport issuance has soared to three months nationwide. Reports indicate that residents, including those in Quaid’s city, are experiencing prolonged waits for passport processing. Regular passport delivery, which typically takes 20 days, now extends beyond three months, while urgent passport requests take one to one and a half months. Fast-track passport services, usually completed within 20 days, are also subject to delays.
The extensive delays are causing inconvenience for Umrah pilgrims, employees, and students planning to study abroad. The backlog in passport processing is attributed to an unprecedented rise in the number of passport applications.
