Recently, the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore witnessed significant changes as former Pakistan coaches Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick decided to step down from their coaching roles. This trio, integral to the coaching lineup for the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team until November 2023, experienced a restructuring of responsibilities in the aftermath of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Following the tournament, Pakistan implemented changes in the coaching staff, leading to the reassignment of Arthur, Bradburn, and Puttick to roles within the NCA. In a notable development in April 2023, Mickey Arthur assumed the position of Director of Cricket, marking his return for a second term with the team after previously serving as the Head Coach from 2016 to 2019. Grant Bradburn, who had previously served as the fielding coach from 2018 to 2020, took on the head coach role in the preceding year, while Andrew Puttick contributed as the batting coach.
These coaching transitions mark a new phase for the NCA, bringing in fresh perspectives and paving the way for a renewed coaching framework in Pakistani cricket.
