Sharjeel Memon, Sindh Minister, has announced forthcoming legislation aimed at combating drug trafficking within schools, emphasizing the joint commitment of both central and provincial governments to launch a rigorous crackdown on drugs. Memon stated firmly, “The days of impunity for drug traffickers are over; if they persist in their activities, they will face severe consequences.” He underscored that strict measures would also be taken against the display of weapons. Additionally, Memon affirmed that actions against illegal immigrants would align with national policy.
In a recent critique aimed at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Memon accused the party of orchestrating a smear campaign against institutions and engaging in terrorist activities on social media. He highlighted the PTI’s reluctance to engage in negotiations and its pursuit of deals, which institutions are unwilling to entertain. Memon criticized the internal divisions within the PTI, asserting that various factions have consistently sought deals over the past eighteen months, questioning their credibility to engage in negotiations while targeting institutions.
