Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has taken a decisive stance against the growing menace of garbage accumulation in streets and markets. Under her leadership, a dedicated session was convened to devise and implement a robust solid waste management plan across the province.
The session extensively reviewed the proposed agreement for outsourcing the solid waste management system, emphasizing meticulous sorting of various waste types at designated transfer stations. To bolster these efforts, plans were finalized for the establishment of numerous landfill sites and transfer stations across key provincial divisions. Maryam Nawaz also greenlit the deployment of a digital monitoring system to ensure the efficacy of waste management operations.
In addition, she tasked Provincial Minister Zeeshan Rafiq with overseeing the outsourcing process to guarantee transparency and accountability. The Chief Minister stressed the non-negotiable importance of clean streets, roads, and vehicles involved in waste transportation, warning against any lapses in cleanliness protocols. With a firm directive against negligence, Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring a cleaner and healthier environment for Punjab residents.
