Today’s headlines bring welcome news for consumers as the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) announces a significant reduction in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices. With a substantial drop of Rs6.45 per kilogram, LPG is now priced at Rs250.33 per kilogram, offering relief to households across the nation.
Domestic cylinder users will particularly benefit from this reduction, with prices slashed by Rs76, bringing the new cost of a domestic cylinder to Rs2,954.
In contrast, the government’s decision to raise petrol prices by Rs9.66 for the next 15 days casts a shadow over motorists’ wallets. The finance ministry, in a notification, attributes this adjustment to the fortnightly revision of petroleum product prices based on OGRA’s recommendation, effective from April 1, 2024.”
