A bank in the bustling city recently received a batch of misprinted notes, causing quite a stir. It remains unclear whether the discrepancy was noticed by a vigilant customer or the bank staff themselves. Given the current economic challenges with inflation soaring, receiving a misprinted banknote could prove devastating for any individual. Social media buzzed with a video showcasing two misprinted Rs. 1,000 notes, lacking the usual intricate details. Prompted by the incident, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has launched an investigation to unravel the root cause. In light of this, it’s essential for the public to be vigilant as counterfeit currency remains a prevalent issue. Earlier this year, the central bank announced plans to introduce a new series of banknotes across various denominations, aiming to combat counterfeit currency and promote economic documentation. Presently, legal tender in Pakistan includes notes ranging from 10 to 5,000 rupees.
