Italy has inaugurated its visa service in Lahore, marking the beginning of a new chapter in bilateral relations between Italy and Pakistan. Augusto Palmeiri, First Secretary of the Italian Embassy, made the announcement during a session at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). Palmeiri underscored the importance of Lahore as the first city he officially visited, signaling the significance of the occasion. Stressing the need for enhanced cooperation between the two nations, particularly in business realms, he extended invitations for participation in forthcoming expos as a step toward fostering stronger business ties. LCCI President Kashif Anwar echoed the sentiment, highlighting the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the chamber and the Embassy of Italy in March 2018 and expressing readiness to renew it to further strengthen mutual relations. As Italy’s visa services commence in Lahore, plans are underway to expand the facility to other major cities across Pakistan in the near future, promising increased accessibility and connectivity between the two countries.
