Iranian President Dr. Ebrahim Raisi concluded his three-day visit to Pakistan, marked by meetings with the country’s leadership and visits to significant landmarks. Notably, President Raisi paid respects at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, underscoring the historical and religious ties between Iran and Pakistan. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and Governor Kamran Khan Tessori bid farewell to President Raisi at Karachi airport. During his visit, President Raisi held discussions with Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir, President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, with both nations aiming to elevate trade volume to $10 billion. President Raisi emphasized the significance of bolstering bilateral trade and fostering closer economic ties. He expressed a sense of familiarity in Pakistan, particularly during his visit to Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum, where he laid a wreath and offered prayers. Acknowledging Pakistan’s role in advocating for Gaza, President Raisi affirmed the absence of foreignness between the two nations, expressing optimism for further strengthening ties. He also lauded Allama Iqbal’s influence on the Muslim world, leaving his remarks in the visitors’ book as a tribute.
