Amidst the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI), a significant consignment of advanced agricultural machinery has crossed into Pakistan from China through the Khunjerab Pass. This initiative seeks to revolutionize the country’s irrigation practices, with the arrival of smart model farms from Cholistan marking a pivotal step forward. The shipment comprises 20 tractors, along with state-of-the-art irrigation systems including drip and hose reel-based technologies, as well as satellite and drone-based control platforms. Additionally, smart agriculture management platforms and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions are included in the convoy. The journey, spanning 5800 kilometers from China, will culminate in Cholistan after covering an additional 1500 kilometers. With a promise of prosperity and development, this endeavor under GPI is poised to modernize Pakistan’s agricultural landscape and bolster its industrialization efforts.
