The indictment of former Prime Minister Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the £190 million corruption reference faced another delay as the newly appointed judge, Nasir Javed Rana, has yet to assume duties. Originally scheduled to preside over the case’s first hearing at Adiala jail, Judge Rana’s absence led to the deferment, marking another instance of postponed proceedings. This delay adds to a series of deferrals attributed to the unavailability of Judge Muhammad Bashir. The Ministry of Law and Justice recently designated Nasir Javed Rana, a district and sessions judge, as the new judge for Islamabad Accountability Court-I, following the impending retirement of incumbent Judge Muhammad Bashir on March 14.
