To address the persistent issue of low gas pressure in Karachi, a pivotal gas pipeline initiative has been initiated, spanning from Kathor to Sarjani. As per the Sui Southern spokesperson, this crucial project aims to rectify low pressure concerns plaguing both 12-inch and 20-inch diameter gas lines. The inauguration of this pipeline project, dedicated to bolstering gas supply to the Western Region, was officiated by Imran Munyar, Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas Company. Notably, this endeavour is poised to alleviate gas supply challenges in areas like Site and Hub Town, subsequently enhancing the operational efficacy of the distribution network. With an anticipated completion date set for June 2024, the project, valued at Rs 5.1 billion, holds promise for significantly ameliorating Karachi’s gas infrastructure.
