The Government of Pakistan, in collaboration with security forces, has launched a comprehensive anti-narcotics operation aimed at combatting drug trafficking and apprehending offenders. Substantial progress has been made during this operation, with authorities seizing a significant quantity of narcotics totaling 1,024,399 kilograms from various regions across the country.
Additionally, a total of 1,244 drug dealers have been arrested, delivering a substantial blow to the illegal drug trade. Recent figures from April 7th to 14th highlight notable seizures in different provinces, including Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, and Sindh. In Balochistan, 651 kilograms of drugs were intercepted, while smaller quantities were confiscated in other regions.
The seized narcotics encompass various substances such as heroin, hashish, methamphetamine, and opium. Specifically, in Balochistan, significant quantities of hashish and methamphetamine were recovered, while in Gilgit-Baltistan, notable seizures of hashish and methamphetamine were also made. Furthermore, law enforcement agencies have been vigilant, resulting in numerous arrests, with Sindh alone witnessing the apprehension of 19 individuals along with the confiscation of 95 kilograms of hashish.
