A health expert emphasized the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent heart-related deaths, especially with the increasing incidence of coronary artery disease globally, including in Pakistan. Cardiologist Major General (retd) Azhar Mehmood Kayani advised regular exercise, heart check-ups, and weight maintenance to reduce the risk of heart attacks. He highlighted the need for public awareness about cardiovascular disease prevention, citing sedentary lifestyles as a significant contributor to heart issues. Dr. Kayani underscored the seriousness of cardiac diseases and identified diabetes, hypertension, smoking, and physical inactivity as major risk factors. Additionally, he mentioned obesity as a primary cause of various diseases, leading to hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular issues.
