The Peshawar High Court has intervened to halt the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from taking action against Sunni Ittehad Council leader, MNA Shandana Gulzar. The court’s decision follows allegations against Gulzar for purportedly campaigning against state institutions. During the proceedings, concerns were raised about the jurisdiction of the FIA Lahore in conducting an inquiry against a resident of another province. Justices questioned the basis for potential action, seeking detailed information about the alleged violations. The court adjourned the hearing until March 25, instructing all parties to provide comprehensive explanations. This development comes after the FIA Cyber Crime Circle in Lahore summoned Gulzar for questioning following accusations of slandering state institutions and government officials on social media platforms.
