The initial shipment of equipment destined for the ‘Million Acres of Green Pakistan Smart Farm Project’ has been prepared and dispatched in collaboration with Tianjin Dayu Irrigation Group, a leading figure in China’s water-saving industry. This venture marks a significant stride towards modernizing agricultural practices in Pakistan. The upcoming deployment of intelligent irrigation equipment, integrating water and fertilizer management, is poised to revolutionize farming practices across 2,000 hectares of Pakistani farmland. This cutting-edge technology will be instrumental in cultivating a diverse range of crops including wheat, cotton, tomatoes, and corn, fostering the development of smart farming techniques. The inception of this initiative traces back to July 7, 2023, when the former Prime Minister launched the Land Information and Management System (LIMS) initiative. Embedded within this framework is the ‘Million Acres of Green Pakistan Smart Farm Project,’ designed to propel agricultural advancement, enhance productivity, and address the evolving demands of a burgeoning population through the adoption of state-of-the-art technology and modern irrigation methodologies. Highlighting the significance of this collaboration, Ghulam Qadir, Pakistan’s Commercial Counsellor in the Pakistan Embassy, Beijing, underscored agriculture’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s economy. He expressed optimism about leveraging advanced technology to bolster production capacities, not only for domestic consumption but also for bolstering Pakistan’s food exports. Additionally, Qadir commended Dayu Group’s achievements in areas such as flood prevention, disaster management, and rural infrastructure development, emphasizing the potential for multifaceted cooperation between the two entities.
