Former president Dr. Arif Alvi asserted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder’s status as the “most popular leader” of the nation during his appearance at the anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore, where he met with PTI stalwarts Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, and Omar Sarfraz Cheema under tight security. Expressing gratitude to PTI supporters, Alvi commended their unwavering loyalty to the party. Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan advocated for the return of the party’s iconic “bat” symbol during the PTI intraparty election hearing at the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Khan highlighted the party’s electoral success despite contesting with alternative symbols like tong and eggplant, emphasizing the transparent nature of the intraparty polls held on March 3. He criticized the unfair loss of the bat symbol and the detention of PTI’s leader, calling for national unity and a reduction in political tensions. Khan refuted objections to the intraparty elections, noting the absence of significant challengers among the 175 political parties in the country who conducted transparent intraparty polls like PTI.
