Senator Ishaq Dar announced that the PML-N-led coalition government will prioritize the matter of Aafia Siddiqui’s release, advocating for her return to Pakistan after over a decade of incarceration in the US. Despite previous efforts, including interactions with US officials and appeals made by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Siddiqui’s release remains unresolved. Dar emphasized the importance of engaging with the US administration anew on this issue, proposing that Siddiqui’s sentence could be served in Pakistan. Meanwhile, JI Senator Mushtaq Ahmad suggested four political options for Siddiqui’s return, aiming to provide solutions for her release.
