Mohsin Naqvi’s PCB Chairmanship challenge in IHC

The appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) faces a legal challenge in the Islamabad High Court. Chief Justice Amir Farooq presided over the hearing, reserving the decision after questioning the petitioner’s grounds for disputing the appointment. The Chief Justice highlighted the distinction between the powers of elected and caretaker prime ministers, asserting that the authority to appoint the Chairman PCB as Patron-in-Chief lies with the Prime Minister. Expressing annoyance at the petitioner for speaking during the order drafting process, Chief Justice Amir Farooq postponed the issuance of the order, instructing the petitioner to await further instructions.
