While affirming its support for the PML-N in government formation, the MQM-P has emphasized its stance on three key constitutional amendments, notably highlighting the autonomy of local bodies. In discussions with a PML-N delegation, mutual assurance of support was expressed regarding these amendments, with the MQM-P reiterating its firm position on the governorship in Sindh, emphasizing it as an irrevocable right. Additionally, the MQM-P clarified its disinterest in joining the federal cabinet, while the PML-N delegation pledged to uphold integrity in government formation without succumbing to blackmail tactics. Syed Mustafa Kamal, a Senior Deputy Convener, reiterated the party’s commitment to supporting any government at the Centre post-elections, contingent upon the adherence to a single-point agenda and past experiences. Notably, any entity seeking the MQM-P’s support or leadership must prioritize the party’s proposed constitutional amendments.
